Two harvests of fruit on a thornless shrub
This new and improved thornless, self-pollinating blackberry vine produces plenty to eat and share.
A full-sized blackberry vine known for producing extra-large berries
Perfect for the home gardener, Freedom is a new take on classic heavy-yielding blackberry vines. For one thing, it’s thornless (yay!). It’s self-pollinating, which means it doesn’t need a companion plant. And it famously produces a double harvest! It needs good support to grow—like a trellis or fence—and will get larger than other berry bushes, so plant it in a sunny spot with plenty of room to spread.
For your efforts, you’ll be rewarded with bunches of extra-large berries for jam or eating fresh out of hand. It’s also popular with pollinators—bees love this bountiful bush.
Heads up! Don’t plant near trees in the walnut family. This plant is sensitive to juglone, a compound walnut trees produce that makes it hard for other plants to grow around them.
